When you come to college there are many more opportunities to see and do new things. One way to get involved is to join a fraternity. Fraternities provide structure, help with academics, form lasting friendships, and most of all have a good time. There are different kinds of fraternities at San Diego State University, and most people can usually find one that is right for them.
What is Rush?
Rush is different at every school, and at San Diego State our council does the following: The Interfraternity Council conducts membership recruitment in the first month of each semester. Typically there is an orientation event, and chapters then sponsor their own recruitment activities over a 5-6 day period. No registration fee is required, and it is up to the student to select which events to attend. On the second day, fraternities can start giving out "bids," which are invitations to join. Students are encouraged to visit as many chapters as practical during the recruitment period to discover the group that best meets their needs. Joining a fraternity is an important decision which can affect the rest of your time at San Diego State University, and throughout the course of your life. If you join Kappa Alpha Order, you become our brother, get academic support, leadership opportunities, and most of all will make the most out of your time in college.
Why KA?
When you choose a fraternity, we
suggest you look at all there is out there, and find what is right
for you. However, Kappa Alpha Order is not just another fraternity.
Based on chivalrous principles, gentlemanly conduct, and the reverence
of God and women, Kappa Alpha stands out from the rest. KA's are
known as the gentlemen of the fraternity world, and we strive to
exceed that expectation everyday. KA is the only Order in the Greek
system, and we take pride in this distinction, a group of people
with similar values, striving for a common goal. This past semester
we had the highest new memeber GPA and were third overall in grades
within the greek system. We are always a top contender for sports
banner and are very involved within the Inter-Fraternity Council.
We continue to fill a full social calendar every semester and continue
to strive to be the best within the fraternity world.
